Sara

Piano Faculty

Sara was humming songs in her crib before she could talk. Growing up in Rhode Island, she played violin, piano, guitar, and clarinet. While studying Anthropology and Music at Tufts University, she sang with an a cappella group and created tons of vocal arrangements for the group on the piano. After college, Sara started writing and recording her own music and moved out to Portland, OR to join a blues band and to pursue a budding interest in teaching. After three years on the west coast making music and gaining valuable teaching experience, Sara moved to Austin where she completed her Texas Teaching Credential and taught Art and Music for K-8. Sara has been giving private music lessons for the past year and is excited about teaching piano at Capital Music Center.

Here’s what Sara’s students have to say about her:

“Ben likes his lessons and really likes Ms Sarah.  He really appreciates the effort she's made to find him other music which he likes that's current.  His progress has been great - please pass this on to Ms Sarah!”  -Sincerely, Mary J

“Our 4 year old Emmett is thoroughly enjoying his music lessons with Sarah.  He is learning a lot and the Roland music box is a nice way to practice and learn at home.”  -Thank you!  Brandy
