Ingrid
Piano Faculty
From
very young girl, Ingrid was a music lover. She began playing piano at the age
of three, performed in the children’s chorus of Houston Grand Opera productions,
and listened to the Beatles on her portable record player. This love of music
turned into a passion in high school, where she performed in her high school
symphonic choir and jazz choir, and in school musical theatre productions.
She earned a degree in music from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, TX. After spending years playing
in bands around the Austin
area, she finally decided it was time to start teaching music. She taught
public school music in the Washington
DC area before moving back to
her true home of Austin.
She and her musician husband love playing music and cooking, while their son,
Asher, is loving his piano lessons at Capital Music.
Here’s what
Ingrid’s students have to say about her:
“I am very pleased
with my son's progress with piano lessons at Kathy Caraway
Elementary School.
He is excited about his after-school lesson, has no issues when
reminded to practice (in fact, often times he doesn't need reminders), and he
is attempting to play music that isn't part of his lessons, ie Axel F. Ingrid is just brilliant with these
kids! She is patient, enthusiastic, and has just the right amount of
energy for these kids. She is creative in her interactions, and she has every parent believing that
his/her child is Ingrid's favorite! (I know mine is!!). I'm glad that my son has this
opportunity to learn to play the piano. Thank you.” -Karen E
“We LOVE Ingrid. She has such a great temperament and skill
working with kids. Julia enjoys and
looks forward to her piano lessons I love the Roland Music Tutor because it
allows me to gauge her accuracy without hovering over her.” --Amy B,
mother of Julia
