Britt

Store Manager

Britt attended The University of Texas at Austin for two years where he studied piano with Lita Guerra and fulfilled two years toward a degree in Music Education before leaving in February 1988 to accept a full-time position at Capital Music Center when it opened (and where he has been employed ever since).  Britt has taught piano lessons for twenty five years and continues to make time for a small number of students despite the demands placed on his schedule by his duties selling Roland digital pianos and managing Capital Music Center.

Britt is also president of D. Britt Music Xtras, which has been producing MIDI accompaniments since 1988.  Some of its best-known products are disks for a variety of titles published by Alfred as well as the Lorenz publication The Noona Comprehensive Piano Library.  Britt is nationally recognized as a leading authority on MIDI technology and has worked with over one hundred piano teachers over the years helping them integrate technology into their teaching.

Britt played the trumpet from fourth through twelfth grade and began piano lessons at age 7, quit at 8, and restarted at 14 when his family bought an organ that had the same kind of appeal that he finds in today’s digital pianos.
