After School Piano Lessons at Hill Elementary, Kiker Elementary, Caraway Elementary, and St Francis School |
The After-School Piano program is an innovative method of piano study in which we emphasize skills of piano playing, basics of musicianship, and the joy of music making. We encourage musical growth in young people who in turn will “make music for life.” The program is an optional curriculum for children in grades K-8th in the neighborhoods of these schools: Kiker Elementary, Hill Elementary, Caraway Elementray, and St. Francis School. No need to drive around town for piano lessons. The program is an integration of the traditional and innovative approach to piano teaching. We teach through a hands-on method, with one master teacher per school in a small group class. The group aspect of teaching allows children to learn group communication and performance skills, as one would expect from other group activities (soccer, band, etc.) This piano programs includes the use of the Roland Music Tutor, which is a take home device enabling you and your child to listen to, practice with (sometimes practicing with an entire symphony!), and study the pieces they have learned in class—thus bringing the teacher home to you.
